Summer Beach Bon Fires: Surf, Stories and Stoke in HB
We kicked off our Summer Beach Bonfires on June 15th, 2024, in Huntington Beach and it was an absolute blast. Not only did it coincide with International Surfing Day, but LET'S GO SURF HUNTINGTON BEACH also set up camp at the TIOIT tent, hanging out all day and night until the final call.
The day was packed with surfing sessions in the morning and afternoon, and there was no shortage of great conversation and stoke. One of the highlights was having Teressa Dill, the winner of the Sakal 9’3” surfboard, join us for the day. Teressa, originally from Chicago, shared her incredible journey into the world of surfing. It all started when a friend planned a trip to California and asked her what was the one thing they had to do. Without hesitation, she said, "learn to surf."
Teressa took her first lesson in Venice, and after two and a half hours of struggling, she finally stood up on her first wave. The onlookers’ applause and cheers fueled her determination, and just like that, she was hooked. She decided to make the big move to California and turned her dream into reality. Now, when she's not nursing, she's surfing, road tripping, camping, and loving life. She's made great use of the board she won at SIMA's SURFscape, even taking it on a surf trip to Baja. Her enthusiasm for life and surfing is truly contagious.
The rest of the LET'S GO SURF HB crew was just as welcoming and friendly, making the day even more special. We're stoked for more beach bonfires this summer, filled with surf, stories, and good vibes. Stay tuned and join us for the next one!
Ride the Storm,
